As a follow-on mission to India's first space X-ray observatory, ASTROSAT, ISRO is planning to set up a telescope on moon.
MISSION TO ENHANCE SCIENTIFIC OBSERVATION CAPACITY:
ISRO chairman A S Kiran Kumar said that the telescope can have lot of advantages as there were no atmosphere or atmospheric effects associated with it.
LAUNCH BY THE END OF 2017:
The space agency is considering to remotely operate the telescope from its Bengaluru office while the experiments will be monitored by personnel in West Virginia, US.

FOLLOW-UP ON ASTROSAT:
In September, 2015, India launched its first dedicated multi wave length space observatory Astrosat for studies related to black holes and neutron stars.
DETAILED UNDERSTANDING OF THE UNIVERSE:
One of the unique features of ASTROSAT mission is that it enables the simultaneous multi-wavelength observations of various astronomical objects with a single satellite, ISRO said.

YET ANOTHER FEATHER IN ISRO's CAP: ASTROSAT scheduled for five years of flight carries four X-ray payloads, one UV telescope and a charge particle monitor. The mission is also to detect new briefly bright X-ray sources in the sky and to perform a limited deep field survey of the universe in the ultraviolet region.
This mission will undoubtedly be a 'Giant leap' towards 'space science'
So, lets give all our best wishes to ISRO team for success of this mission.
